Take online wine classes with Vinolust! Learn all about wine from the comfort of home.
Learn about the wines of Burgundy, France, one of the most celebrated and iconic wine regions in the world. This region is essentially the birthplace of terroir, and the benchmark for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir – the two varietals it is best known for. In this class we explore the various regions of Burgundy, it’s rich winemaking history, and better understand the nuance of terroir through tasting the wines from different AOCs.
Classes in the series include:
Class 1: Chablis & the Auxerrois – Thursday, February 4th
The terroir of Chablis defines the style of focused, electric Chardonnay that has made the region famous.
Learn more about this wine and the lesser known gems of the surrounding Auxerrois area.
Class 2: Côte de Nuits – Thursday, February 11th
Pinot Noir wines of the Côte de Nuits are celebrated throughout the world for their complexity and longevity.
This class we taste through three beautiful expressions of Pinot Noir from this region.
Class 3: Côte de Beaune, February 18th
Rich with history and wine culture, the Côte de Beaune is responsible for exceptional Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Explore the nuance and pure pleasure of both grapes produced in this region.
Class 4: Côte Challonnaise & the Mâconnais – Thursday, February 25th
Finally, in this class we cover the southern-most part of Burgundy,
experiencing lesser known varietals and blends, along with completing our tour of Burgundian terroir.
To truly understand the wines of this region it is important to taste wines at a variety of price points, so this case is a bit more expensive than some of the other classes. BUT, the great folks at Hi-Time have given some pretty great pricing deals to allow me to share some pretty nice wines with you all. The Vinolust Tour of Burgundy 12-pack can be purchased directly through Hi Time Wine Cellars and contains the 3 wines being opened each class.
For those who still want to taste along but don’t want to commit to 3 bottles each week, there is also a Vinolust Tour of Burgundy 4-pack that has my suggestion of one wine to taste each class. Either option works great, and of course you are always welcome to source wine for class on your own, or take the class with no wine at all. Below are the wines we will be tasting in each class:

2018 Christophe Ferrari Saint Bris
2016 Domaine Elise Villiers Vézelay ‘Les Clos’
