Take online wine classes with Vinolust! Learn all about wine from the comfort of home.
The Rhône Valley in France is one of its most important and productive wine regions, and also home to some of its most popular and delicious wines! But the Rhône Valley is full of unique personalities and unusual varietals, which we will explore throughout the class. Then, we continue our journey south (just in time for rosé season!) to Provence and the Languedoc-Roussillon. This southern coast of France is the perfect place to sit back and sip on some delicious wine as we learn about the culture, history and appellations that each tell their own unique story. So join me on this delightful and delicious journey this May!
Classes in the series include:
Class 1: Northern Rhône Valley – Thursday, May 6th
The Northern Rhône Valley is the birthplace and benchmark of Syrah. It is also the producer of some very exquisite and prized white wines.
This class we explore the ancient history and famous Crus of the north.
Class 2: Southern Rhône Valley – Thursday, May 13th
So close, yet so different from its northern counterpart, the Southern Rhône Valley boasts some of the most recognizable and delicious wines of France! We will discuss how this region is uniquely suited to produce world class wines and taste some excellent examples.
Class 3: Provence – Thursday, May 20th
Time to take a trip through the Côte d’Azur and soak in the Summer sun! The wine region of Provence is best known for its now famous style of dry rosé wine, the perfect poolside companion. However other reds and whites of the region are equally spectacular and notable.
Class 3: Languedoc-Roussillon – Thursday, May 27th
The wild west of French wine, Languedoc-Roussillon is the home turf for some of the most original and experimental winemaking that can be found. It also has a remarkable history of culture and tradition, with an important place in the world of wine.
The accompanying Vinolust Tour of Rhône 12-pack of wines we will taste in class are available at Hi-Time Wine Cellars, and there is also a 4-pack option (1 wine per class) for anyone who would like to go a bit lighter. As always, participants are welcome to source wines for class on their own, or enjoy entirely without! You will receive a separate email when the tasting selections are available for purchase/sourcing.
