Tour of Germany & Austria: Germany Part II

While Riesling is definitely the queen, Pinot Noir – or ‘Spätburgunder’ – is the ravishing red of Germany that is gaining momentum. In this class we cover the wine regions of Nahe, Pfalz & Baden.  The wines of Germany & Austria are expressive of a climate, culture and history emblematic of these two unique countries.  They focus on remarkable signature white varietals like Riesling and Grüner Veltliner, and equally underrated native red varietals.  This 4-part class series travels along the many rivers that make up these exquisite wine regions, and we will explore the culture & wines as we mosey along.

Wines tasted during this class:
2017 Rainer Sauer Ab Ovo Silvaner
2016 Philipp Kuhn Tradition Pinot Noir
2015 Ziereisen Pinot Noir Schulen
