Italy is home to over 2,000 indigenous grape varietals. The wine of the country is defined by each region’s unique relationship with its native grapes, most of which are not commonly found here. Yet it is the individuality of these varietals that makes Italy such an exciting and powerful presence on the world stage of wine, and a constant adventure to taste and explore.
In north central Italy we discover some lesser known local varietals that have been long-standing favorites of the locals. Tasting these wines is an exploration of the heritage and culture of the region.
